Two people were injured Sunday afternoon when their small aircraft crashed into a field in east Fort Worth.
A witness called police about 4:30 p.m. from the 800 block of Beach Street to report that a small plane crashed in a vacant field near the Trinity River and Gateway Park Drive.
The pilot of the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza reported a loss of engine power shortly before touching down, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said.
Two people on board were injured but are expected to make full recoveries, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.
They were alert and breathing when first responders arrived and were taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in stable condition, he said.
