Just keep plugging away - a least a little bit every day.

Anyone have a picture of a completed wing rib for reference?

Thanks! Also, does anyone know if it's ok to bend the rudder ribs with the grain? As most of you know the longer dimension of sheet usually runs with the grain so I can't get the long ribs done while maintaining a bend against the grain.

I'm away from home so don't have access to my library.
I'd look here first for the minimum bend radius:

Regardless, that book is essential for anyone building an aeroplane.

Rudder is awaiting hinges and then welding. But off topic, does anyone have a diagram or plans for a pushrod aileron system?

Hope the straps got to you okay?

Works good having a nice bender to get the radius correct. Keep up the posting of your build!

Yeah I got the straps! I've lost a lot of interest in the project though due to me being absolutely terrible at welding.

Just like flying- it takes a lot of 'stick' (torch) time. Keep practicing!
If you are doing TIG here is a great resource http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/

I'm pretty sure it's because I tried to learn to weld with a welder that had lift start and had a thumb wheel for amp control instead of HF start and a foot pedal. It made controlling the arc very difficult and made it nearly impossible to get the right amperage for the thin tail ribs
