Laser 200 not covered by falcon insurance?

Post by Laser200 » 14 Aug 2017 05:26

So I recently bought a laser200 and when I tried to get the policy switched in my name they said the airplane is not insurable through them? Has anybody had anything similar? And what do you guys have for insurance? Or is it because I have a one off airplane varying from the traditional laser?

Nice looking Laser you have there!
It think I'm seeing 2 mods: Low wing and Whitman rod landing gear.
To my thinking, the Laser is more of a concept than a fixed aircraft design. No two are exactly the same.
They started as a mod to the Stephen's Akro? and have moved on in the form of Extra, Staudacher, Giles, MX, Panzl etc...
The original 'Open Source' aircraft.
Get an insurance broker. I use Teri Branstitre @ Northwest Insurance Group.
Teri is also an officer in IAC Chapter 67, and was the statistician for the Beaver State Aerobatic Contest last week end. She will know what you need.

Did you sort out your insurance? What did you end up needing?
