The plywood pitch fixture fits over the front of the downward sweeping blade. You slide it in from the tip until it snugs over the leading and trailing edges. It will need to be set vertical. After unclamping the counterweight pinch bolts, the old propeller blades simply screw out. Inspect & clean the socket and lightly grease the threads. To set blade pitch when the propeller shaft is inclined, the angle must be known. These blades specify 17 degrees of pitch at the low pitch stop. 83.2-17=66.2 on the down sweeping blade

This pinch bolt locks the counterweight and pitch sleeve together with the blade root, after the pitch is set.

The piston seal and cylinder wall must be clean, without defects. Notice the sludge buildup, deposited by centrifugal force. Clean this out with a soft paper shop towel, leave no lint.

Remove the piston and cylinder over a bucket, oil will spill out.

Turn cylinder to disengage lugs and pull cylinder straight out.
