Looking for contact information for shipchief.
Jay here, would like to talk props with you. I’ve got a 96 Yak 55M, and I’m not real happy with my MTV-3-250. Would like to talk to you.

Paging shipchief
Re: Paging shipchief

Thought I should introduce myself. Jay Hodge and this is my Yak 55M. Love the plane, but not a fan of the MTV-3-250 that’s on it. Would like to talk to people who have tried the Whirlwind, or even used the stock V530.

Re: Paging shipchief
Hi Jay;
I haven't checked this site for a while.
The first year I had my Yak-55M at Acro Camp, the instructors were very taken with the plane, but one of them warned me to stay away from the MT 3 blade, it would be a disappointment.
So I elected to go with the Whirl Wind W-530 blades as I documented here.
I'm not sorry, but I should have spent some more time balancing the V-530 paddle blades. So I'm going to keep the original blades as a back-up in case there is ever a problem with the W-530 (I doubt that will happen - just insurance)

Re: Paging shipchief

I just sold my 52 which had the original V-530 on it. Now I just have my 55 with the MTV3-250 on it. It’s time to overhaul the MT, so I was thinking if it turns into a money pit, I would come up with a new plan. Was hoping to talk to you about your experience with the new blades.
